The Deacon turns over a new leaf in an effort to be the church's nominee for a humanitarian award, which could win him and Thelma a trip to the Holy Land. Thelma may lose a big commission as a real-estate agent thanks to the Deacon. The Deacon's magic act flops before the church board, which is selecting entertainment for a charity bash, but it impresses a burglar out to rob the choir hall. Reverend Gregory falls in love with the new Sunday-school teacher, leaving Thelma heartbroken. The Deacon devotes himself to his law practice when the board appoints Rolly as its new chairman.
